What we do / Brand licensing and brand development

For some brands we go further: we hold the licence.

For several brands GEKKO Agency is more than a supplier: we hold the merchandise licence and run the merchandise business as our own, from the collection to the B2C store, the B2B portal, the warehouse and the customer service. Jägermeister is one of them, under a global merchandise licence since 2024, with everything organic or recycled under the Meister Code.

How does a licensed merchandise partnership work?

  • GEKKO invests

In the collection, the samples and the stock, and carries the risk of the merchandise business.

  • GEKKO runs

The B2C store, the B2B portal, the warehouse, the shipping and the customer service, worldwide.

  • GEKKO guards

The brand: every piece within the brand's standards, approved by the brand.

  • The brand brings

The brand, the approval and the audience. Commercial terms are agreed in the conversation, not on a page.

In one sentence

Since 2024, GEKKO Agency has held the global merchandise licence for Jägermeister: design, production, the B2B and B2C stores, worldwide distribution and customer service.

Jägermeister holds its merchandise to its own standard, the Meister Code: everything has to be responsible from A to Z, organic or recycled. GEKKO Agency runs that end to end, with organic and recycled fabrics, certifications per production and quality checks, from the cotton plant to the packaging and the transport.

And brand development for artists?

The same thinking applies to artists: merchandise developed as a clothing brand with its own identity, collections and store, built over seasons instead of tour by tour. GEKKO designs, produces, runs the store and ships; the artist owns the brand.

What else do clients ask?

When does a licence make sense?

When a brand has demand for merchandise worldwide but does not want to run a clothing business itself: no stock, no store, no shipping, no returns desk. The brand approves; GEKKO Agency does the rest.

What is different from producing and running the store?

Ownership of the merchandise business. Outside a licence, who owns the stock is agreed per programme; under a licence GEKKO owns the stock and the risk, and runs the business as its own within your brand's standards.

Do you publish licence fees or royalty percentages?

No. Licence fees and royalties depend on the brand and the programme, and we discuss them in the first conversation. Our general terms and conditions are public on the terms page.

Where do licensed products ship?

Worldwide, from our own warehouse in Rotterdam, to consumers and to the brand's business customers alike. Jägermeister's global merchandise licence works this way, with B2B and B2C sales handled by GEKKO Agency.

What is brand development for artists?

Building an artist's merchandise into a clothing brand with its own identity, collections and store, developed over seasons instead of tour by tour. No figures here; the work speaks in the store.
